About the Course

This class focuses on developing interpersonal communication skills to help Sprouts navigate and strengthen their middle school relationships.


Course Highlights:


Foundations of Communication:

  • Understanding the importance of effective communication in building and maintaining relationships.


Active Listening:

  • Practicing techniques such as paraphrasing, asking questions, and providing feedback.


Expressing Emotions:

  • Engaging in activities that help Sprouts share their feelings with clarity and respect.


Conflict Resolution:

  • Teaching strategies for resolving conflicts and handling disagreements constructively.

  • Practicing conflict resolution skills through role-playing and guided discussions.


Positive Communication:

  • Encouraging positive communication techniques, including giving and receiving compliments, and constructive criticism.

  • Learning how to maintain a respectful and supportive dialogue.

  • Engaging in exercises that foster compassion and consideration for others' perspectives.


Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Developing skills to work collaboratively and build strong team dynamics.


Digital Communication:

  • Understanding the impact of digital communication and social media on relationships.

  • Learning guidelines for appropriate and respectful online interactions.


Public Speaking and Presentation Skills:

  • Practicing how to prepare and present information clearly and engagingly.

  • Participating in activities to interpret and use non-verbal cues effectively.


Reflective Journaling:
