Founder and Executive Director
Karen Kennedy, an etiquette coach and professional speaker, is the Founder and Executive Director of Lady Blossoms Finishing School for Girls -- the nation's first modern day etiquette school with activities rooted in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).
Lady Blossoms' unique fusion of social etiquette and S.T.E.A.M. offers a complete solution to a current ill-fated trend. Nowadays girls are inundated with negative self-images from reality shows, magazines, music, and the like; and are disproportionately underrepresented in careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Since 2011, Lady Blossoms has been an advocate for the fundamental development of girls and a beacon for their future in S.T.E.A.M. leadership.
As Executive Director, Ms. Kennedy oversees the operations of the business. Since its beginning, Karen has been the facilitator of instruction, empowering groups of youth and adults in and outside of Northern California. Her ongoing efforts demonstrate an unyielding commitment to girls has resulted in the development to this cutting edge curriculum of etiquette.
Karen has been a champion for women and girls since the late 1990’s. It was then she helped pioneer the Teen Advocacy Program at a local shelter for victims of domestic violence. She led talks to local high school students about abuse in teenage relationships and how teens can empower themselves out of these unhealthy entanglements.
Karen Kennedy is a two time author of the leading etiquette book Socially Smart and Savvy and #1 best seller Succeeding in Spite of Everything. She started her first business, Lady Blossoms in 2011. By 2013 her business quickly evolved to her namesake Karen Kennedy Worldwide and Lady Blossoms Finishing School for Girls has become the Bay Area’s premier etiquette school for girls.
As a motivator and role model, Kennedy has a relatable connection with her audience that comes from her own personal story of being a young mother growing up in Oakland, California and starting her own business after a divorce. In addition to being a highly sought after speaker and entrepreneur, Karen is a mother of three amazing girls. The oldest girl attends the #1 ranked school in the country, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her middle daughter is a high school honors student and celebrated clarinetist, and the little one is a superstar in elementary. Currently Karen is working on her next book, How Divorced Parents Can Send Their Daughter to Ivy League Schools.
